Acupuncture needles coated with silicone are used to study bioaccumulation kinetics of organic contaminants in individual fish. This technique in combination with chemical benchmarking improves existing fish bioconcentration tests by reducing both the number of fish needed and the length of the test.
Are you interested in solving the environmental issues of the future?
We can provide the tools. At ITM we offer both a Bachelors and a Masters programme in Environmental Science. We also offer a first cycle course in Introductory Environmental Science and second cycle courses in e.g. Environmental Science, Modeling, Ecotoxicology, Atmospheric Science and organic environmental chemistry.
